Carmelo Anthony opened up his feelings of pity and sorrow of the tragic shooting in Dallas that left five police officers dead. Carmelo took to social media to request athletes to demand change without resorting to violence.

New York Knicks forward Anthony wrote on Instagram, shooting 11 cops and killing 5 of them is an event causing great suffering. Carmelo called his fellow athletes that they need to step up and take charge. Carmelo suggested them to go to the government officials to demand change.

Carmelo pointed out that waiting and being afraid of tackling and addressing political issues are long gone, based on the report of ESPN.

The image of the Instagram post by Anthony featured some of the most prominent athletes of the Civil Rights Movement, which includes Muhammad Ali, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Jim Brown, Daily Knicks reported.
