Atlast, "Red Dead Redemption" is backwards compatible on the Xbox One. Rockstar Games' Western classic can now be installed on Xbox One with the help of a disc and it's up for grabs on the Xbox store as a 7.4 GB download.

Players, who already have a digital copy of "Red Dead Redemption" on their Xbox 360, will have the game appear in their Xbox One games collection. They can simply download it from the menu.

Besides the original release, "Undead Nightmare" as well as "Game of the Year Edition," Rockstar Games confirmed that all versions of the hit title are compatible with Xbox One, Express reported.

"Red Dead Redemption" DLC On Xbox One

Those playing Rockstar's Western masterpiece on Xbox One have more than just one reason to rejoice!

The studio has discounted an array of Red Dead Redemption's DLC on Xbox One. A slew of DLC packs including The Legends and Killers, Liars and Cheats, Outlaws among others are now available at no cost, along with Hunting and Trading and Myths and Mavericks expansions.

The more sizeable content including Undead Nightmare DLC is not available for free though, nor are the comparatively smaller cosmetic downloads such as Deadly Assassin, Golden Guns and War Horse; these will all set players back a dollar.

"Red Dead Redemption" DLC Discounts

While the main game is currently discounted to $10.79 (about £8.74) or $7.49 (about £6.24) for Xbox Live Gold members, Undead Nightmare is up for grabs at $9.99 (about £6.75), IGN reported.

Players in the UK can get their hands on the Undead Nightmare collection (bundled with the main game and the expansion) for £13.49. The US version does not come with the same discount.

Immediately after Rockstar announced the backwards compatibility, Amazon sales of the game catapult by a whopping 6000%. Apparently, not too many players waited for the discounts.

As far as the new game is concerned, rumor mills are speculating it will hit the shelves very soon; the speculations stems from a recently leaked map from a sequel.
