One of the strongest phones made by Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active, already received the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.

The phone ideal for users with demanding lifestyle, Galaxy S6 Active is a resistant phone that is can resist the harsh impacts. The device is also packed with some good specs. However, these handsets can get very slow especially because they are not the main Galaxy flagships, Android Authority reported.

Customers and users of the said device have been waiting to have the Marshmallow update on their devices. And now, it is finally out. The update for the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active android phones rolled out across US. AT&T announces the release of the update on July 5.

The update, Android 6.0.1, is quite large but there is a valid reason as to why the update comes in a large size. Marshmallow brings lots of improvements to the device which includes development in the old features as well as the addition of new ones. Features include Google Now on Tap, Doze mode, and native fingerprint support. It also features Android Play and an adoptable microSD storage. What's more is that it includes Wi-Fi calling capabilities.

This is one problem users are complaining about AT&T exclusive mobile phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active: the updates takes longer than other carriers. As of the latest update, Marshmallow, AT&T took longer than Verizon and was the last one to roll out an update, Android Police reported.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active was more popular last year. The Active version of the Galaxy S6 packed a water resistant design which the main flagship did not have. Its battery packs a 3500mAh cell which is more than the Galaxy S6. It was though that this phone was a better option.

The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update clocks at 1.4 GB and requires Wi-Fi connection to be installed. The device can be updated from the system update menu.

The main flagship, Samsung Galaxy S6 already had its Marshmallow update earlier this year (May).
