"Magic Mike" star and Oscar best actor winner Matthew McConaughey will return to his alma mater the University of Texas not only to visit, but he will be teaching students for a filming class.

The university announced and confirmed that the actor, alongside "Game of Thrones" director Gary Ross, will teach an upper-level class of 30 students, The Wrap reported.

On Thursday, June 30, UT-Austin's Moody College of Communications, Lauren Phillips, told MySa that students who will attend class of McConaughey, will get a behind the scenes look at "Free State of Jones" through recorded videos, thus giving them in-depth look at film making process. Aside from that, the actor is schedule to show-up at least once for his college gig.

The flick is set during the Civil War, and it follows the story of defiant farmer, Newton Knight (McConaughey), and armed rebellion against the Confederacy,

Knight launched a revolt that led Jones County, Mississippi to split from the Confederacy, thus creating a "Free State of Jones." Knight struggles into Reconstruction.

The estimated budget of the film is $50,000,000, and its opening weekend garnered $7,572,206 in the box office (USA). On June 28, the total gross of the film was $9,562,007.

"Free State Jones" was released on June 24, 2016, helmed by GOT director Gary Ross.

Aside from this movie, McConaughey also stars in the movie "The Dark Tower." He and Idris Elba will portray the roles of the villainous Man In Black.

The upcoming film is directed by Nikolaj Arcel, and it is set to release on February 17, 2017. The film is based on American horror Stephen King's best-selling series of fantasy novels, of the same title.

As of now, it is ramping productions on the theatrical  adaptation. The director of this movie, Arcel, is renown for his movie "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo."
