"Deep Down," the working title for the upcoming role-playing video game for the PlayStation 4 video game console, is set to be released later this year. Capcom previously postponed the game development three years ago.

The "Deep Down" game came into light earlier this year when Capcom filed the fourth and final extension of its trademark. The released extension also declared that Capcom is more likely to release the title on February 2017 or it may not happen at all, Segment Next reported.

What even put "Deep Down" on the shallow depths of missed video games was its no-show in the recently concluded E3 2016, which raised questions whether the game will still be coming. However, reports about the "Deep Down" development issues reveal a big chance for the game to materialize in the future. In February 2015, Capcom's Yoshinori Ono said that the Japanese site 4gamer is managing to revive the hopes of "Deep Down" followers, but in a greater amount of time needed.

"It looks like Deep Down will take just a little longer. We're thinking about showing something that looks completely different from what previously shown, although it might be a while from now," said Ono in an English-translated interview via VG247.

Ono also emphasized that their ideas for the game are much larger and comprehensive now compared to when the game was first announced. He addressed issues regarding the previous ideas' lack of ability to capture the audience, which will be the driving gear for the new developments of "Deep Down."

"Deep Down," the free to play dungeon crawler gameplay is due to be released later this year on PS4 format.

Meanwhile, another role playing game is making headlines. "Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" will be arriving to virtual consoles of Wii U in North America for $7.99, Nintendo reported.

"Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars" is amongst the finest Super Nintendo RPGs. It is a collaborative project of Squaresoft and Nintendo.
