Apple Inc. released a new developer beta of Safari 10 for their OS X El Capitan and OS X Yosemite.

For those people who do not want to install macOS Sierra just to test out the Safari update, Apple Incorporated released a developer beta for OS X Yosemite and OS X El Capitan. This new update, Safari 10 beta can now be downloaded from the Apple Developer Center, MacRumors reported

The Safari 10 Beta for El Capitan and Yosemite includes most but not all of the features that are available in the macOS Sierra. Features like Picture in Picture and Apple Pay on the web is not supported in this developer beta.

Here are the features of the new Safari 10 developer beta for El Capitan and Yosemite:

- New Bookmarks sidebar, which includes a double-click function to focus on a folder.

- Bookmarks and History views are redesigned

- Site-specific zoom

- Reader improvements

- AutoFill from Contacts card is improved

- Back closing spawned tabs

 - HTML5 and legacy Plug-ins

- Allows reopening of tabs that are recently closed

- Web Inspector Timelines Tab

- Improved ranking of Frequently Visited Sites

- Debugging using Web Inspector

The developers evaluating the software on OS X El Capitan are being asked to focus on Safari App Extensions development and Spotlight suggestions, appleinsider reported.

The Safari 10 was introduced by Apple Inc. at the Worldwide Developers Conference held earlier this month. The main highlights are the Apple Pay web transactions and the picture in picture video viewing. These feature, however, are exclusive to macOS Sierra and will not be available on the Safari 10 developer beta released for Yosemite and El Capitan.

The newly released betas are only limited to developers as of now. However, Apple said that this software will be available to public beta testers this July as part of macOS Sierra. The browser will reportedly be released this Fall 2016.
