Microsoft became the first tech giant to penetrate connections in the legal marijuana industry. It partners with KIND Financial to develop software for tracking development of cannabis and selling marijuana.

The Los Angeles-based startup KIND is focused on technology for cannabis Industry. The goal of this partnership with Microsoft is to paddle resources for the rationale of building "seed-to-sale" software for government's navigating the fast growing legal marijuana industry, Information Week posted.

Although legal marijuana industry is young, it is a hugely lucrative business, Tax Foundation reported. This is Microsoft's answer to the challenge of managing compliance without advanced software confronting US states and municipalities and other countries where weed has been legalized for medical and recreational use.

KIND and Microsoft have commenced a system to assist governments track and sell weed called KIND Government Solutions. This software running on the Microsoft Azure cloud, mean to ensure transparency and accountability in cannabis programs organization. Thus, marijuana startup has already been established a platform for governments and regulatory agencies to administer the entire spectrum of cannabis requirement.

Microsoft's "Agrisoft Seed to Sale for Government" is hub to the platform. This software gathers and examines data that governments need to uphold compliance with the strict and varying regulations of marijuana-related businesses for each US state.

KIND founder and CEO David Dinenberg said that no one can foresee the future of cannabis legalization but, clearly, legalized cannabis will always be subject to strict lapse and regulations analogous to alcohol and tobacco, Information Week added.. Therefore, KIND is proud to present governments and regulatory agencies the tools and technology to check cannabis compliance.

As of the moment, D.C. and other 25 states have legalized the use of marijuana for medical purposes. Later this year, more states are reportedly voting on cannabis legalization, Seattle Pi reported. Each state has distinct rules and regulations about the growth and sale of weed which makes compliance a major challenge.

This record-breaking Microsoft-KIND partnership will open up opportunities for customers within the cannabis industry.
