The Boston Celtics headed by general manager Danny Ainge, who have been pursuing Kevin Love for at least two years, may not have ended their strong feeling of wanting with the player.
Recently, Ainge took part in a workout with Excel Sports Management clients in New York City and met agent Jeff Schwartz. Schwartz represents Cleveland Cavaliers Love, as well as Golden State Warriors Harrison Barnes, Yibada reported.
In this year's NBA draft, the Celtics have eight picks which include the third overall pick. And the American professional basketball team also have young stars such as Kelly Olynyk, Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder, among others, that can be presented in a particular way with the draft picks for a star player, Real GM reported.
However, Love was one of the NBA players linked with Boston Celtics, as Love is clearly not a fit for coach Tyronn Lue's Cleveland Cavaliers. It has also been rumored that the Celtics management attempted to entice Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant in free agency.
Even that Duke Blue Devils Brandon Ingram, who is presumed the No. 2 pick in next week's draft, Ainge is believed to have inquired with agent Schwartz about whether a trade for the power forward Love could be considered.
On the other hand, Barnes also could have been a topic of the discussion between Ainge and agent Schwartz. As the small forward Barnes is set to become a restricted free agent after the NBA 2015-2016 season, Sporting News reported.
But, Celtics should aim higher regarding their players, as Love whose recent injuries and uninspiring performances are genuine concerns. While the young Barnes still has room for improvement in his game, NESN reported.
That being said, Celtics still have many alternatives to choose from this off-season. Boston Celtics on the verge of being legitimate title contenders with an NBA superstar like Isaiah Thomas.
