Asus's latest Android-based "ZenPad Z8" tablet that cost only $249.99, could make a person think about why they shouldn't purchase the $399 Apple's iPad Mini 4.

Asus' "ZenPad Z8" tablet will be available exclusively through Verizon Wireless, and shipping will be effective on June 23. The gadget is now ready for LTE network in the U.S. of Verizon, and can be purchased online, Gadgets reported.

The "ZenPad Z8" tablet which is a cellular-ready unit will come with the latest Android version, Android M Operating System. The iPad Mini 4's cellular-ready version starts at $529, PC World reported.

A six-core Snapdragon 650 chip powered the Asus' "ZenPad Z8," which is slated to compete and could even exceed the A8 chip of iPad Mini 4. A dedicated Adreno 510 graphics processor is also featured in the new "ZenPad Z8," which is designed to process 4K resolution video without experiencing any complications, Enstarz reported.

True to form as an Android gadget, the new "ZenPad Z8" has a distinctive attribute of a micro-SD card slot that can expand file storage. The gadget also has two cameras - a 2MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear shooter.

However, Asus' "ZenPad Z8" tablet does meet the iPad Mini 4 in almost all aspects, the area that the new Android tablet really triumphs against Apple's device is the price.

Asus corporate vice president and general manager for mobile communications - Benson Lin, is hopeful and confident about the future of the firm's new Android tablet.

Lin stated that the computer hardware company is excited to launch the latest gadget with Verizon. As the "ZenPad Z8" brings a remarkable feature set and top-end specifications to Verizon consumers at a very affordable price. Lin also said that they are thrilled to begin their relationship with Verizon and for gadget users to experience the "ZenPad Z8" Android tablet.
