Gigabyte has launched a customized GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming graphics card that is capable of running VR.

The manufacturer boasts the Windforce 3X cooler, which is a patent-pending design that the company has claimed for its reduced turbulence. The graphics card features a 3-fan setup, as detailed on Gigabyte's website.

Gigabyte has stated that the graphics card is the new flagship model for its premium Xtreme Gaming series. It makes use a Pascal design from Nvidia, which recently released its Geforce GTX 1080 last May.

The newly developed arrangement of the cooling system sees it generate an overall improvement in temperature control by 4 percent. Gigabyte disclosed that the design features three 100mm fans, which was re-structured to have sickle fan blades in order to draw in more airflow, and six composite copper heat-pipes that comes in direct contact with the GPU, according to PCGamer.

Gigabyte has yet to release its tested speeds, but analysts speculate that the new card would come close or be up to par with the manufacturer's G1 Gaming series. It is expected that the GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming would also run at 1,695MHz clockspeed, while peaking at 1,835MHz with it being set to gaming mode. Certainly over-clocking would put up higher speeds.

The new flagship graphics card from Gigabyte comes in VR-ready with more output flexibility with its two HDMI ports by making use of the Xtreme VR Link.

It is apparent that the card supports multiple VR devices. The additional HDMI ports are placed at the card's front, which also allows users to connect virtual reality devices without hogging the HMDI port, HotHardware reported

Gigabyte has yet to announce the pricing and availability of its flagship model, although the manufacturer has revealed that it offers Xtreme Care warranty for its new graphics card. Customers are treated with an additional three to four years of extra warranty once registration is complete.
