The "Elder Scrolls 6" release date has yet to be officially announced by Bethesda, since its announcement in February, but hints that it may develop a remastered version of "Skyrim" instead.

The fans of the series has to do a lot of further waiting before getting a specific release date from the game's developers. Instead, a remaster of "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is more likely, and it is expected Bethesda would announce it during E3 2016, Forbes reported.

A trusted industry insider, Shinobi602, is apparently the one responsible for starting the rumor. It is reported that the remastered version of "Skyrim" would include mod support, all DLC packs, as well as an overall visual improvement.

It has been known for a while that Bethesda was busy with the recent release of "Fallout 4," but Pete Hines, vice president of PR and marketing at Bethesda, has announced in February of this year that "The Elder Scrolls 6" is in development.

This is where the confusion from fans seem to originate, Hines refers to the next instalment in the series as "Skyrim 2," which puts an end to rumors whether the new instalment would have any inclusion of Oblivion or Morrowind maps, according to Eurogamer.

It only seems that the only thing fans would be able to confirm is that Bethesda is looking to update the "Skyrim" to current generation consoles, but a whole new game or a "Skyrim 2" still remains to be seen. Critics believe that the update would revolve around Valenwood, where the Thalmor group is known to settle.

Bethesda is set to reveal what the game developers has in store for its fans at the E3 conference this Sunday, June 12. History has also revealed that Bethesda has been known to keep secrets, which would only build up more anticipation for Bethesda's E3 2016 conference.
