There is no way Apple is dominating the laptop battle with its MacBook series. Lo and behold, Asus just launched its flagship offering, ZenBook 3 laptop which is built with more powerful features and specs in thinner and lighter body, on Monday at Computex Event in Taipei.

Asus' ZenBook 3 laptop showcased an aluminum body with 12.-5 inch screen for the base model. It is possessed with an Intel Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. These new features put it in the competition against two other strong MacBook alternatives, Dell's XPS 13 and the Razer Blade Stealth. This base model's price will start at $999 which converts to £685 and AU$1,395 - an affordable and competitive range for a latest offering, CNET reported.

As per its top-of-the-line model, the retail will range for $1,999 which converts to £1,370 and AU$2,790. It will feature a whopping 1TB SSD, an Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM, CNET added.

Even if you are not a fan of shininess on devices, ZenBook 3's intricately attached gold trim around its edges might change your preference. It is a bold statement and a stand out in an array of more mute-colored notebooks and laptop devices.

The Computex show let the ZenBook 3 impress its audience further. This Asus laptop was light and well constructed making it very portable. Unfortunately, like the MacBook, it was built with only one USB Type-C port. Additional pressing issue is its keyboard. When the CNET correspondent tried three units, two of them encountered some beefs registering key presses. Well, if the retail model is hindered by a lackluster keyboard, it would be hump on its way to its head on with Apple's MacBook Pro.

Spectators have to wait for a while or so because Asus is yet to reveal when the ZenBook 3 will be release.
