Michael Keaton has been confirmed to play the villainous "The Vulture" in the upcoming reboot "Spider-Man: Homecoming. Keaton recently portrayed an iconic bird-like superhero relieving his glory days in the black comedy "Birdman" which gave him an Oscar nod.

Rumors have long been flying around that the actor who just of lately starred in the critically-acclaimed "Spotlight," has his name long been drawn up to be involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as reported by Master Herald. Earlier this month the veteran actor was purportedly to have said yes in joining the multiparty movie by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.

According to The Inquisitr, the account of Keaton being involved with the project was a long-winding road that somehow finally took a full circle. The first outing for both the studios and the actor didn't fair quite well, so Marvel and Sony had to shop somewhere else.

However, their efforts turned out in vain so they had to come back once more and reel in the much bigger fish. This time however, everything fit in as it was brought into the table that Keaton will be playing the titular villain, the aging inventor Adrian Toomes AKA The Vulture.

Vincent D'Onofriowas also mentioned in the website to have his Netflix Daredevil character finally jump shipped to the Hollywood big screen for Spider-Man: Homecoming.  D'Onofrio portrayed muscled mob boss Wilson Fisk AKA The Kingpin in the first season of the series.

Other actors who have long been confirmed to join Tom Holland who will be portraying a motor mouth web-slinging teenager are Marisa Tomei as Aunt May. Zendaya in the portrayl of Michelle and Tony Revolori as Manuel.

Robert Downey Jr. who sparked off the involvement of Spider-Man for Captain America: Civil War is also making a major appearance for "Homecoming."
