The first unofficial hack, more of a common knowledge for wise travelers, is to know where your money goes and what are you paying for. Now dig in to the Travel Hacks from Wise Travelers:

1.      Examine the options

As a wise traveler, do not be fond of paying an airline for headsets, a car rental firm for GPS or a hotel for breakfast. These products and extra services cost money. There are no average fees for these unnecessary loads. But you can still get away with it when you examine your options.

Consider Smarter Travel airline fee guide, their charges ranges from $0 to $100 for the same service. But some companies do not charge at all for certain "extras."

For example, Southwest remains the only U.S. carrier not charging for first and second checked bags.

2.      Learn From the options

There are these most divisive fees which are generating virtually without cost to travel expenses but the companies are hideously milking more revenue.

Check on Greyhound's Gift Ticket fee, since no other travel company entails a similar charge. According to USA Today, some airlines are charging more for the seats of the same size near aisles or windows. And they are referring to the same basic economy seats.

3.      Make sure you pay the service, not the profit

There are standard maintenance costs for any organization operating large fleets of vehicles. But recently car rental companies have unilaterally decided the customer should pay to maintain their fleets, by opting for additional cost for roadside service packages. In fairness, travelers should not pay for the breakdown of a car someone else has not maintained. Make the travel free of that and be wise in explaining your side.

Aside from knowing your destination, it is quite wiser if your know how to get there at ease of financial burdens that awaits you. Wise traveler knows.
