Samsung has taken the wraps off its latest 2016 edition of the Galaxy Tab A tablet, as anticipated. The consumer electronics giant had unveiled the 7-inch edition of the same tablet in March.

The latter comes with SIM card and supports 4G LTE. As far as other specifications of both the models are concerned, they are exactly the same. Currently listed on the company's Netherlands site, the highly-anticipated device has been announced in Germany along with other European countries.

The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) features a large 10.1-inch WUXGA (1920x1200) TFT display and is powered by an octa-core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6GHz coupled with 2GB of RAM. As far as inbuilt storage is concerned, the device comes with 16GB inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 200GB via microSD.

One of the most striking features of the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 is that it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Samsung's skin on top.

The device sports an impressive 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash and also features f/1.9 aperture. The 2-megapixel front-facing camera on the other hand packs f/2.2 aperture also on board, according to reports on NDTV.

The 10.1-inch edition of Samsung Galaxy Tab A is backed by a robust 7300mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the device comes with Micro-USB connectivity options, Glonass, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. It weighs 525 grams and measures 254.2x155.3x8.2mm.

With 16: 10-aspect ratio of the screen combined with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 A is perfect for enjoying a movie in high quality. Due to Its grippy surface structure, the device stays safe in hand while its rounded casing edges give the tablet a modern design, Samsung said in a post on its official website.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 A will be available in two variations:
