Seton Hill University officials and community members mourned the loss of their head lacrosse coach Kristina Quigley and her unborn child in a fatal bus accident. The bus carrying 23 players and three coaches was on the way to a Saturday afternoon NCAA Division II game at Millersville University.

The fatal bus crash occurred when the driver lost control, hit a guardrail, drove 70 yards and then hit a tree on the Pennsylvania Turnpike near Carlisle.

Quigley, 30, who was about six months pregnant was flown by helicopter with two other injured players to Penn State Hershey Medical Center where she died of her injuries at the hospital.

The 61-year-old bus driver, Anthony Guaetta, died at the scene.

The university offered a memorial Mass for Quigley and prayer for the bus driver at Saint Joseph Chapel on the university campus.

It was Quigley's second season with the team where she led the team to 11 victories last year.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Quigley and a son, Gavin.

Seton Hill University issued a statement after the crash:

"The Seton Hill community is mourning the loss of Kristina Quigley and her unborn son. The university extends deepest sympathy to Quigley's husband and family."

"It's numbing," sophomore Kt Dimmick told Huffington Post. "There's really no words for it. The simple fact that she was pregnant."

The local hospitals also treated 14 other passengers for minor injuries.

Police couldn't immediately reveal the cause of the crash, and an investigation has been initiated.
