Anthony Muthungu is a Physics and Mathematics sophomore student at Karatina University in Kenya. He invented a new device that could alarm vehicle drivers that they are approaching dangerous zones. The LUAM Blackspot Tracer will alert them to reduce their running speed when they are near blackspots.

Standard Media reports that the LUAM Blackspot Tracer is made from a combination of two electronic devices including an ordinary TV remote control. The Blackspot Tracer will be programmed with software that he also invented. Muthungu collaborated with his phyiscs assistant lecturer at his university to create and develop the device.

The LUAM Blackspot Tracer is intended to be attached to the vehicle as it can detect blackspots as far as 500 meters. Future En Tech shares that the device makes vehicles less prone to accidents not only because it can detect blackspots but because motorists don't have to get out of their car to check for possible blackspots. The gadget prevents car crashes and possible accidents that motorists encounter when they stop beside the road.

The Blackspot Tracer has an LCD screen which will light up and beeup up to alert thethe motorists of possible road dangers ahead. However, when the LUAM Blackspot Tracer is not encountering any possible blackspots, the device will dim. The outlet says that GOT Brainwave road safety campaigners found out that there have been 160 preventable deaths due to blackspots in the country.

Blackspots are locations on the road where a number of car crashes have been recorded, according to the Queensland Government. These are sites that Muthungu and his LUAM Blackspot Tracer hope to alert motorists with. The device is ready to be implemented and Muthungu plans to reserve all rights to its ownership.
