The University of Southern California confirmed its athletic director, Pat Haden, is recovering after being hospitalized for being light-headed.

According to The Associated Press, the school did not provide details on Haden's hospitalization, but did say the incident was similar to one that happened last fall. Haden has been in the news multiple times for his health, though he never seems to be taken away from his job for an extended period.

Tim Tessalone, USC's sports information director, confirmed Haden felt light-headed while walking on campus Wednesday. Medical personnel met with Haden and took him to see his doctor, though he was able to walk to his office.

Tessalone indicated Haden has had at least one similar incident in the recent past, The Los Angeles Times reported. This time was believed to be caused by something else, but Haden was discharged from the hospital soon after entering nonetheless.

"[He] felt lightheaded, similar to how he felt at the Notre Dame game last October," the school said in a statement. "He sat down outside Heritage Hall and the athletic department's medical personnel attended to him."

Haden announced his retirement earlier this month, stating his last day would be June 30 and that he would still oversee the renovations of the L.A. Memorial Coliseum.
