For the third time since the fall, the University of Missouri suspended Maty Mauk from its football team, but this time it seems abundantly clear why.

MU Athletic director Mack Rhodes and head football coach Barry Odom announced Mauk's suspension in a joint statement Monday night after a video surfaced on Twitter apparently showing Mauk snorting cocaine. The tweet with the video identifies the person as Mauk and implies the substance is cocaine, but MU will have to verify both in its own investigation.

Mauk was first suspended in September for an undisclosed violation of team rules, The Associated Press reported. The suspension was announced at the time as indefinite, though it wound up lasting four games. A week after his return, Mauk was suspended again for disciplinary reasons, this time for the remainder of the season.

Rhoades and Odom have not put a timeline on Mauk's most recent suspension. The first two suspensions came under Gary Pinkel, though Odom reinstated Mauk when he took over the team, ESPN reported.

Mauk started for Missouri in its back-to-back SEC East title campaigns in 2013 and 2014, going 17-5 in three seasons. The Tigers were 3-1 last season before his first suspension, going 2-6 the rest of the way.
