If the Brooklyn Nets want to lure John Calipari from the University of Kentucky, they will need to do more than just offer him the keys to the franchise.

But Coach Cal is no stranger to rumors linking him to the Nets, as that is his only NBA stop during his basketball coaching career. The Nets (when they were in New Jersey) was also the only team he was not successful with, prompting some to believe he wants another shot.

Some also believe the numerous players Calipari sent to the NBA during his tenure at Memphis and Kentucky could also be a factor. Yet time and time again, Calipari has shot down any speculation that he wants to go back to the NBA, though that may be changing.

Citing unnamed sources, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski learned Calipari is seeking a 10-year deal worth at least $120 million to return to the NBA. Calipari would also want to be named the team's president, as well as head coach.

Wojnarowski also noted Calipari would be open to teams other than just the Nets, it appears the coach's former team is the one seriously considering bringing him back. The Nets fired its head coach, Lionel Hollins, and reassigned its general manager, Billy King, over the weekend.

In a separate report, Wojnarowski learned King will help CEO Brett Yormark in the search for the Nets' new GM. Yormark was with the organization when Calipari was the president and coach of the team in the late 1990s.

ESPN's Brian Windhorst reported that people around the league he has spoken to believe this batch of rumors will end the same way previous one have: with Calipari staying in Kentucky. To his credit, Calipari publicly stated via Twitter his long-term plan is to stay right where he is.
