One of the top running back prospects in the Class of 2016, Devwah Whaley became the first player at the Under Armour All-America Game to announce their commitment.

According to ESPN, the six-foot, 195 pound running back chose Arkansas over Georgia and Texas A&M. Whaley originally committed to Georgia on Thanksgiving, a couple months after his visit there, but de-committed after Mark Richt was fired.

Arkansas is coming off a 7-5 season, finishing in the middle of the pack of the SEC West. But the Razorbacks finished their season 5-1, including road upsets over Ole Miss and LSU, after starting out 2-4. Whaley's commitment is also well timed, especially if Alex Collins declares for the NFL Draft.

USA Today High School Sports noted Whaley was the first recruit to announce his commitment at the Under Armour All-America Game at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.

"I felt like it was the best place for me," he said of his choice. "It was the best fit all-around with a great coaching staff. That's the place for me to earn my degree and get to the next level."

247 Sports rated Whaley with a 0.9438 composite score, ranking fourth among the class' running backs. ESPN ranked the four-star running back 49th overall on the 2016 ESPN 300.
