Ezekiel Elliott was involved in a two-car crash early Sunday morning in Columbus, Ohio that left one person with a minor injury.

The Ohio State Buckeyes running back was not hurt himself and the person from the other car who did sustain a minor injury did not need to be taken to a hospital. The crash resulted in Elliott being cited for not having an operator's license, failure to control and driving under a suspended license, NBC Sports' Craig Calcaterra learned.

Columbus Police said the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on State Route 315, NBC 4 later confirmed. Elliot reportedly told responding officers the car he was operating hydroplaned after he drove over a puddle and caused him to slide and hit the other car.

A spokesperson for the Buckeyes told ESPN Elliott is still set to play in the team's Fiesta Bowl game against Notre Dame on Jan. 1, indicating the school does not plan on taking any disciplinary action. The game will be his last at Ohio State, as the running back stated last month he intends to declare for the NFL Draft.

Elliott commented on the matter on his Twitter account, writing "You guys are ridiculous ... Lol" in a tweet that has since been deleted, according to Bleacher Report.

Elliott took over the starting running back position in his second season and tallied 3,812 yards and 39 touchdowns on 565 carries during his collegiate career. This season, Elliott finished fifth in the nation in rushing with 1,672 yards.
