If trading was possible in college football, the Oklahoma Sooners and Texas A&M Aggies would be a natural fit for a quarterback swap.

Even still, it seems highly possible a former Oklahoma QB could be suiting up for Texas A&M next season and vice versa. One of three QBs to leave Texas A&M in the last two years, Kyle Allen told 247 Sports Oklahoma is among his top four destinations alongside Colorado State, Houston, and Nebraska.

Like Kenny Hill did a year ago, Allen could step into a program with a firmly entrenched starting QB due to leave in the near future. At Oklahoma, Allen would likely sit out while Baker Mayfield plays out his senior season (if he returns) similar to how Hill sat out while Trevone Boykin finished his playing career at TCU.

Allen, a former five-star high school prospect, told Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman earlier this month he wants to transfer to a Power 5 program with a starting QB who would be heading into his senior season. If that was not an indicator of where he wants to transfer, he specifically told Feldman "Oklahoma comes to mind because it does fit all those things."

So after Kyler Murray decided to follow Allen out of College Station a few days later, who might coach Kevin Sumlin play under center next season? He could not do much better than Trevor Knight.

According to GigEm247, Texas A&M is the most likely landing spot for Knight, who decided to transfer earlier this month. Knight's graduation at the University of Oklahoma makes him eligible to play right away, making him an ideal short-term solution for Sumlin.

And to boot, he is a dual-threat QB who has a win against Alabama under his belt.
