The Florida Gators (18) are stumbling into the SEC Championship, which does not bode well facing an Alabama Crimson Tide (2) team that has looked invincible since its week three loss to Ole Miss.

While some might argue Alabama's strength of schedule to be overrated and other would suggest they are the rightful number-one team, they will be ranked either first or second for the College Football Playoff (CFP) with a win.

The SEC title game is the only Power 5 championship in which the favored team is giving more than a touchdown in the Vegas odds. Florida is being given virtually no chance to win. The Gators are coming out of a weak SEC East and their offense has regressed mightily since quarterback Will Grier was suspended.

The SEC Championship game offers an interesting potential scenario: if Alabama loses, will the CFP committee leave the SEC out of the Final Four? Even winning the title game would not likely be enough to propel the Gators into the Top Four, and Alabama may not be able to avoid falling less than two places with two losses and no conference championship.

With one of the best defensive backfields in the nation, Florida will try to bottle up Alabama running back Derrick Henry and force QB Jake Coker to make plays with his arm. They key will be for the Gators' offense to get in gear. However it unfolds, Alabama cannot afford to underestimate their opponent.

"This is an outstanding team that we're playing," Alabama head coach Nick Saban said in his weekly press conference. "They wouldn't be in the SEC championship game if they weren't. I think anybody out there that thinks this is not going to be a real challenge and a real test for our team. I don't know what you're thinking. I don't know what you're thinking. I really don't get it."
