Washington College (WC) closed for a second consecutive day as a student believed to be in possession of firearms is still missing.

According to The Washington Post, the FBI joined the search for a WC sophomore named Jacob Marberger. The student's parents told the school Monday morning their son took a firearm from their home and then left apparently distraught with something concerning the school.

Marberger was last seen driving a dark green 1997 Land Rover with a Pennsylvania license plate with the letters "JWY," but has not been found yet. Starting early Monday morning, students on campus were asked to shelter in place and anyone coming to campus was urged to stay away.

As of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, WC announced on its website Marberger was still missing and that it would remain closed Wednesday. WC has encouraged resident students to remain within their dorm halls, but students were encouraged to make arrangements to go home if they can.

Harris Murphy, the state's attorney for Kent County, Md., told The Post police are now seeking Marberger for arrest on the following charges from an incident last month: "Dangerous weapon on school property, handgun on a person, possession of a firearm by a minor, illegal possession of ammunition."

Margerber allegedly showed off a handgun at the WC Phi Delta Theta fraternity house in Oct. The incident resulted in Marberger resigning from the student government association, his removal from the fraternity and a weeklong suspension from WC that could result in expulsion, The Post noted.

Preceding Marberger's parents notifying the school their son went missing, an anonymous threat appeared on social media. Both of which prompted WC to issue the lockdown and shelter in place orders.
