The new season of college basketball is upon us and with a litany of men's and women's games tipping off, there are quite a few matchups to catch streaming free online.

WatchESPN is streaming a ton of men's and women's games Friday, some of which are free of a TV subscription. For the games that are not streaming online, check out TuneIn for radio broadcasts.

NCAA Men's b-ball

Albany vs. Kentucky (2): 7 p.m. ET, Lexington, Ken.

Stream: WatchESPN/SEC Network (TV subscription)

If you miss the first half, then there is probably no point in tuning in. Kentucky will get ahead by a lot and then coast, but tonight's game will give viewers a first look at the Wildcats' new wave of freshmen, primarily Jamal Murray and Skal Labissiere.

North Carolina (1) vs. Temple: 7 p.m. ET, Annapolis, Md.

Stream: CBS will air the game on TV, but apparently not online. However, you can listen to the game on TuneIn.

North Carolina earned the preseason number-one ranking for returning a host of starters from last season. The Tar Heels will be deep this year, which bodes well for them going without Marcus Paige for a few weeks.

Siena vs. Duke (5): 7 p.m. ET, Durham, N.C.

Stream: ESPNU/WatchESPN (TV subscription)

Like Kentucky, Duke is ushering in a powerhouse recruiting class, so tune in to see Brandon Ingram, Derryck Thornton, and Chase Jeter make their debuts. Bonus: Grayson Allen, last year's NCAA Tournament hero, is stepping into a more involved role.

McNeese State vs. LSU (21): Baton Rouge, La.

Stream: ESPNU/WatchESPN (TV subscription)

The main draw here is the arrival of Ben Simmons, the number-one recruit from the class of 2015. LSU built a strong class around Simmons and will be Kentucky's biggest challenger for the SEC.

NCAA Women's

Ohio State (6) vs. South Carolina (2): 7 p.m. ET, Columbia, S.C.

Stream: WatchESPN/SEC Network

In both the men's and women's game, this is the only opening-night matchup between two Top-10 Division I teams. Both teams are returning a lot of upper classmen and could well meet again in the postseason. Additionally, Ohio State follows up its opener against South Carolina by playing UConn on Monday (the number-one Huskies' season opener) and Notre Dame in a few weeks.
