The University of Notre Dame (UND) has found itself embroiled in a sex scandal involving a now former female academic coach accused of sexual coercion.

The New York Daily News reported obtaining an internal report from UND detailing accusations the tutor granted football and men's basketball players academic favors in exchange for them having sex wither her daughter, also a student at UND.

UND announced it had the academic coach, who's identity was not disclosed, on Monday. However, the termination took place more than two weeks ago and was brought to light by a lawsuit from a UND student claiming to have been pressured into a sexual relationship with the tutor's daughter.

Filed Friday, the lawsuit alleges the relationship last five months during the past spring semester when the student began tutoring, The Daily News reported. The academic coach paid for hotel rooms for the two and provided them with condoms. She would later ask the student for details about the sexual acts and would also make "racially-charged comments about his sexual prowess and genitalia," the suit states.

"She was exploiting African-American males," Peter J. Agostino, an attorney representing the student, told The Daily News. "He was invited to the family's private home to facilitate the relationship."

Paul Browne, vice president of public affairs and communications at UND, told The Associated Press the allegations in the lawsuit are "unfounded" and "nothing more than cynical attempt to attract publicity." Browne also stated UND was not complicit in the alleged sexual coercion by one of its employees.

Browne also confirmed that an investigation into the allegations led to the termination of the academic coach in question.
