J.T. Barrett may have reclaimed the starting quarterback position for the Ohio State Buckeyes, but he is still battling criticisms that he cannot do everything his counterpart, Cardale Jones can.

Both QBs are mobile, though Barrett has better breakaway speed while Jones is more of a physical runner. Both QBs have also displayed serious arm talent and can "make the NFL throws," as the scouts would say.

But who can throw the ball farther? The answer is quite simple: Cardale Jones, it is even documented.

Speaking with reporters after practice Wednesday, Barrett was prompted with a question about where throwing deep will fit into Ohio State's offense now that Jones is no longer the starter. Barrett took the opportunity to state his case that he can throw deep just as well as Jones and that the offense will not change a bit.

"[The offense] really didn't change with Cardale in the game," ESPN quoted Barrett telling reporters. "Like last year when I was playing, how many deep balls did I throw to Devin [Smith]? All the deep balls that we had were to Devin, and I threw them, but I guess since I'm not 6-5 and 250 [pounds] that I didn't have a strong arm or something. I didn't know what that was about.

"We didn't have new plays in so Cardale could throw the ball farther down the field. It was our base plays, and we just worked within that. Nothing has changed, so I even forgot about your question because I've wanted to say that for a long time to be honest with you, because I didn't know what that was about."

Judging from the above video, Barrett kept his soliloquy light-hearted, often making reporters chuckle, but he also did not detract from Jones' performance. The two are roommates and good friends, but they QB differently.

"I can do the same things," Barrett said. "The thing is, now when a play breaks down and somebody is 80 yards down the field, am I going to throw it? Absolutely not. Cardale is going to throw that. I'm not going to throw that. But I feel that's different."
