The Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) placed its campus on lockdown for a brief period, during which police apprehended a suspected gunman.

According to CBS Philadelphia, a teenage student threatened another student on CCP's campus on Tuesday with a gun, prompting the lockdown. Law enforcement arrived on campus around 9:30 a.m. and arrested the person wielding the gun before any shots were fired.

Eyewitnesses told the news station the suspect entered the Winnet Building after threatening the student. The school announced the lockdown shortly after police arrived on campus.

Around 12:30 p.m., CCP lifted the lockdown and notified the public the suspect had been arrested. The school said it would be closed the rest of the day and encourage people to leave campus in a "calm, orderly fashion."

Citing an unnamed law enforcement source, The Philadelphia Daily News reported on Monday that police were made aware of a threat directed at Philadelphia-area colleges. The threat appeared on 4chan, warning of a shooting at "a university near Philadelphia." A similarly vague threat appeared on the same website the night before the Umpqua Community College shooting.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey told CNN the CCP student arrested was "arguing over something - I do not know at this time what the argument was over." The police believe the incident was not a planned shooting, but a "personal dispute."

There were no shots fired and no one was injured, CNN reported.

"College's Main Campus is closed effective immediately. The West, Northwest and Northeast Regional Centers are open," read a statement on CCP's website. "Exit campus in a calm, orderly fashion. Normal class schedules and business operations resume Wednesday. Get updates at www.ccp.edu or @CCPedu."
