Maty Mauk's suspension from the University of Missouri (UM) football team was extended beyond this past week to last indefinitely.

However, UM head football coach Gary Pinkel still did not disclose what rule(s) Mauk violated to warrant the suspension. Both he and Malik Cuellar, a backup left tackle on the team, were suspended last Tuesday, The Kansas City Star reported.

While Cuellar's status remains uncertain, Mauk will not play against Florida next Saturday and does not have a timetable for his reinstatement. In his first start in Mauk's stead, Drew Lock lead Missouri to a 24-10 win over South Carolina.

"I don't ever talk about disciplinary issues ever," ESPN quoted Pinkel telling reporters on a weekly news conference. "That's something they trust in me and I trust in them."

In three seasons, Missouri is 21-5 when Mauk started at QB and are coming up on a major SEC East matchup with Florida. At 3-0 in conference play, the Gators are the division's only unbeaten team. Missouri currently sits in the middle of their division with a 1-1 record in SEC play.

The Columbia Missourian noted Mauk does not appear on the Tigers' depth chart, whereas Cuellar does. It is unlikely that Mauk was dismissed, as that would warrant a formal announcement.
