Shortly after De'Andre Johnson turned himself in on a misdemeanor battery charge, the State Attorney's Office in Tallahassee released the surveillance footage of the incident.

Obtained by the Tallahassee Democrat, the video shows the altercation between Johnson and a female Florida State University (FSU) student who accused him of punching her in the face as the two quarreled near the bar at Yianni's on West Tennessee Street.

The video below may be considered graphic. At the 1:46 mark, Johnson (in the white hat turned backwards) and the woman come into view.

1. Johnson, 19, appears to be trying to get to the counter while the woman, who is 21, is trying to cut him off, at which point they clearly start to argue.

2. About 10 seconds after we first see them, the altercation escalates enough so that the woman curls her right hand into a fist and raises it.

3. Johnson then grabs her by the wrist with his left hand while his right arm is cut off at the bottom of the screen. Court documents obtained by the Democrat state the woman also tried pushing Johnson away by thrusting her knee into his waist.

4. Her left arm apparently free, she retracts it and throws a punch at his face.

5. Appearing to be minimally affected by her blow, if at all, Johnson viciously punches her in the face, toppling several items on the bar counter with his follow through. Johnson then does not reappear in the video, as he likely left the bar after striking the woman.

Johnson turned himself in last Tuesday and was held briefly in Leon County Jail before being released on $500 bond, ESPN reported. FSU head football coach Jimbo Fisher suspended the backup quarterback indefinitely, pending the investigation.

State Attorney Willie Meggs said he filed the charges against Johnson after reviewing the surveillance footage, the Democrat noted. He also said the woman wants to testify and appears to be a "good witness."

Witnesses and the video footage pointed to Johnson as the main suspect. According to ESPN, the woman suffered a bruise near her left eye, a cut near her nose and swelling all around the area she was struck.

Johnson's attorney, Jose Baez, has not commented publicly on the matter.
