Drexel University is investigating an incident in which a law professor sent an email to her students containing a link to a pornographic video.

Philly.com obtained a screenshot of the email from Lisa McElroy dated March 31, which read, "I thought this article on brief writing would be interesting for all of you." The subject line also indicated the email was pertaining to brief writing.

However, the link below the message was a PornHub.com domain, though Philly.com redacted the link's precise destination. McElroy, a 31-year-old associate professor of legal writing and pedagogy at Drexel's Thomas R. Kline School of Law, has not commented publicly.

"Drexel is required to initiate fact-finding for all reports of inappropriate behaviors of a sexual nature that may impact members of our community," the school said in a statement. "As part of these policies and procedures, an employee may be put on administrative leave - which is not punitive - during the investigation."

The Associated Press indicated Drexel officials believe McElroy "erroneously" posted the pornographic link in her email. Regardless, federal law requires them to carry out an investigation. Drexel did not specify if McElroy was placed on administrative leave or not.

The AP noted McElroy has published writings on the U.S. Supreme Court, including books geared toward helping children understand the judicial system. She also writes for the U.S. Supreme Court's SCOTUS blog.

She also published an article in the New York University Review of Law and Social Change titled "Sex on the Brain: Adolescent Psychosocial Science and Sanctions for Risky Sex," Philly.com reported.

An active writer, McElroy has contributed consistently to the Motherlode, the New York Times' parenting blog.
