If West Virginia proved you cannot beat the Kentucky Wildcats (1) at their own game, then the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (3) may be holding onto some hope for their Elite Eight matchup.

The Irish could not try to be out-tough the Wildcats if they wanted to, they simply do not have the size, but they may just be the team to end Kentucky's historic run if they can knock down shots. Kentucky has proven over and over no team can play their game better, which will be of no concern to Notre Dame.

Notre Dame's tallest player is Zach Auguste at six-foot-10 and they also do not have a center on their roster. Kentcuky has four players that tall or taller. Auguste may be in a for a hellish experience in the low post, but the Irish's approach will probably have little to do with him.

"We have a lot of confidence," Notre Dame guard Jerian Grant said in a pregame press conference, according to the Associated Press. "We feel they haven't played an offensive team like us. Just go out there and play our game I think we'll be able to get a win."

Preparing for Notre Dame was probably a new challenge in itself for Kentucky, but coach John Calipari is sticking to his tried-and-true plan of deflecting talk of perfection.

"My team knows that every team that's left playing can beat us, we know that," he said. "Somebody talked about perfection. We're not perfect; we're undefeated. I mean, we should have lost five or six games. We easily could have lost those games. And we were lucky enough to win.

"Well, this is the same kind of game, you can't help Notre Dame. If you do, you're going to lose because they're that good."
