Shortly after being dismissed from the University of Louisville basketball team, the Cardinals' former senior guard Chris Jones has been charged with rape and sodomy.

According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, the school's police force obtained a warrant for Jones' arrest when Jefferson District Judge Katie King signed off on it Wednesday. He is accused of raping one woman and sodomizing another.

Jessie Halladay, a spokeswoman for the Jefferson County Attorney's Office, said two men participated in the assault of one victim and they are Tyvon Walker and Jalen Tilford. They have reportedly been arrested and charged with rape and sodomy as well and were scheduled for a hearing Thursday morning.

The two victims are 19 and 20 years old, and one was hospitalized after Jones attacked her. One of the incidents occurred Saturday night, when Jones had scored 17 points in a 55-53 win over Miami earlier that day. After being suspended and reinstated earlier last week, Louisville head men's basketball coach Rick Pitino dismissed Jones from the team, ESPN reported.

The Courier-Journal's Jeff Greer reported from the courtroom Thursday morning, via Twitter, that Jones turned himself in, as was expected, and pled not guilty to the charges against him.

After his dismissal Sunday, Jones found himself in a police report involving him and a woman he apparently had a relationship with, ESPN reported. The university police report said the woman ransacked his apartment and Jones responded by sending her text threatening to "smack [her the f**k] out]. She decided not to press charges and asked instead that he be mandated to seek help.

The Courier-Journal learned the woman Jones threatened is not one of the two victims he is accused of sexually assaulting.

The former Louisville guard reportedly reached out to John Lucas, a former NBA player who runs a rehabilitation program for athletes and sports figures, for help with anger management. Lucas told ESPN "nothing has been finalized."
