Mired in a 14-15 season, Kansas State and its fans were looking for a reason to celebrate, so beating archrival Kansas 70-63 was that reason, but it may have gotten out of hand.

According to ESPN, Kansas coach Bill Self and several of his players had a difficult time getting to the visitors' locker room due to the crowd's rowdiness. Self was even pinned down at the scorer's table and needed Kansas State coach Bruce Weber's help to get free.

In several videos sprouting up on social media websites, Kansas State fans can be seen getting physical with some Kansas players. A Kansas assistant coach also appeared to take a Kansas State fan by the neck for a second.

"That's disappointing that happened again, but we also allowed it to happen again," Self said in his postgame press conference, according to ESPN. "It's a ballgame.

"It's not about chicken-winging somebody when the game's over. Hopefully, they can get that corrected. It's fine if you want to celebrate when you beat us, that's your business. That's fine. But at least it shouldn't put anybody at risk from a safety standpoint."

For Kansas State, the win was a major upset over their in-state rivals who also happen to be the team that has won the conference title 10 years running. Additionally, they are 7-9 in the Big 12. Court storming is a college basketball tradition in major rivalry games, especially late in the season.

"I love the students, and it's a cool thing to be part of that, but you also have to be careful of making sure no one gets hurt," Weber said after the game, noting that he had told his players before the game, "You can have your own special moment."
