The Kentucky Wildcats (1) and UCLA Bruins are rounding out the 2014 CBS Sports Classic in Chicago, Ill.

UCLA is trying to rebound from a loss to Gonzaga that snapped a four-game winning streak, but will have to go through the unanimously top-ranked Wildcats. Kentucky has held off ranked opponents like Kansas, Texas and North Carolina, but UCLA may be the toughest offense they have encountered to this point.

UCLA is averaging 80 points per game with 16 assists and .459 collective field goal percentage. But no defense is averaging fewer points allowed and more blocks per game than Kentucky's. Even after losing junior guard Alex Poythress to an ACL tear, Kentucky was able to outlast North Carolina.

Despite their competition on the court, Kentucky coach John Calipari said he wants to be associated with programs like UCLA, according to the Wildcats' official website. The Bruins are most well known for the late coach John Wooden, who won 10 NCAA National Titles in 12 years, including a string of seven in a row.

"We want a tie to programs like that," Calipari said in his weekly news conference. "I've known [UCLA coach Steve Alford] for years and years.

"We've become close, but I knew him when he was at Southwest Missouri State... He and I have been close. When he went to Iowa, I think we played. They beat us when I was at Memphis, one of my first years. But he's a terrific coach, just a great guy."

Kentucky and UCLA play the second game of a doubleheader in the inaugural CBS Sports Classic, following North Carolina and Ohio State and 1 p.m. ET. The CBS Sports Classic is scheduled for two more years and will be played in Brooklyn in 2015 and Las Vegas in 2016.
