Both the San Diego State Aztecs (19) and Cincinnati Bearcats are coming off two recent losses and are looking to get back on track before conference play begins.

Both teams are also dealing with sputtering offenses while featuring two of the best defenses in the nation thus far.

San Diego State has lost two of its last four, including one to Washington in which they scored just 36 points, though they are allowing an average of just 55 points per game. Meanwhile, Cincinnati, whose defense is allowing n average of 53 points per game, have lost two of their last three after starting out 5-0.

The Bearcats are 5-0 at home, which is something San Diego State head coach Steve Fisher is keenly aware of.

"They've gotten 25 out of the last 26 at home, so this will be a challenge for us," Fisher told reporters ahead of the game, according to ESPN. "They have been like us a little bit, they've had low-scoring games, they guard you like crazy and are very physical.

The Aztecs are playing just their second road game this season, but are coming off a come-from-behind win at home against Long Beach State. In that win, the Aztecs scored 19 points in the final seven minutes and shot six of 10 from the floor.

"Maybe a little controlled desperation is what we saw," Fisher said. "But I saw them play with energy and play with toughness, to say 'We're going to find a way to win.' And some way, somehow, we did. I think our kids are to be applauded.

"I thought that the last seven to eight minutes our offensive flow was the best it's been in a long time. Smooth, controlled, confident, delivered the ball to the right person at the right time."
