Apple may be delaying the launch of its first-ever smart watch, though an official release date has never been reveled.

Obtained by 9to5Mac, a transcript of a video message to Apple employees from Angela Ahrendts, the company's senior vice president of retail and online stores, the Watch is due out in spring 2015.

Provided by an unnamed source, part of Ahrendts' message states, "We're going into the holidays, we'll go into Chinese New Year, and then we've got a new watch launch coming in the spring."

On their official website, Apple advertises the Watch is due out in "Early 2015" and the company has stuck to that since the device was unveiled in Sept. 9to5Mac previously reported that Apple was aiming for the Watch to be on the shelves by Valentine's Day, but that will apparently not happen.

Ahrendts' message further enforces that scoop since the Chinese New Year is Feb. 19 in the U.S. However, Apple may not be wrong in their advertising of "Early 2015," since March 20 is the first day of spring in 2015. It should also be noted that iOS 8 and the iPhone 6/6 Plus were meant to be fall releases and hit the shelves about a week before the first day of fall.

March 20 happens to fall on a Friday, which is the day Apple likes to release its hardware, so Apple may actually be on schedule to release the Watch in early 2015 and spring.

Will we see a Friday the 13th Apple Watch release? At this point, the earliest release date that can be expected is March 6, but the 20th may be more realistic. Since Apple is coming late to the smart watch market, they may not want to release their first such device on Friday the 13th.
