Update: According to ESPN, FSU announced Wednesday afternoon that Jameis Winston would be suspended for the first half of the Seminoles' game against Clemson Saturday.

The school's official statement:

Original story:

Jameis Winston is in trouble again, this time for getting up on a student union table, apparently unprovoked in any way, and shouting a sexually lewd and obscene phrase.

First reported by Deadspin (warning: the article contains strong language), several onlookers took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to comment on a public Winston sighting. Based on all the tweets, Winston apparently stood on a table and shouted the punch line of a certain Internet meme.

According to USA Today, Florida State head football coach Jimbo Fisher told reporters on his weekly teleconference that the reigning Heisman Trophy winner is in for some kind of punishment. For Winston, his action stands out as a nationally recognized public figure and a high profile student-athlete under investigation for sexual assault.

"It was not a good decision," Fisher said. "You can't make certain statements that are derogatory or inflammatory to any person, race or gender. You have to understand that.

"You have to be very intelligent about what you say, (because) it matters."

Pat Forde noted for Yahoo Sports that Winston addressed his public image after he was caught stealing crab legs from a local grocery store.

"I realize that I am in the public spotlight and my conduct needs to be above reproach," Winston said at the time.

Apparently part of the joke for the Internet meme is randomly shouting the punch line. Though several college students have no doubt partaken, none of them have as many eyes on them at all times like Winston does.

Fisher indicated his quarterback might miss playing time this Saturday for the top-ranked Seminoles' game against Clemson (22), but that the school had not landed on any form of punishment yet.

"It's something that has to be addressed," Fisher said. "We're talking as things go on right now."
