In true Apple form, the Cupertino, Calif.-based tech giant announced an all-but-confirmed event with an infuriatingly cryptic message.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Apple sent out invites to an event scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 9. Then speaking directly to the reporters, bloggers and readers who would be redistributing the announcement, Apple said, "Wish we could say more."

While Apple never discusses what they plan to unveil or release ahead of time, the company is expected to show off their iPhone 6 and iWatch. Apple is known for unveiling and releasing new hardware and software late in the summer and into the fall.

During the summer, Apple announced that iOS 8 would be available in the fall and one of the main features of the new mobile operating systems would be Healthkit. The app is an indicator of the iWatch because it can record important health information and the upcoming smart watch will likely be equipped with a pulse reader, making the two a natural match.

Re/Code reported Wednesday that Apple is in fact planning on unveiling the iWatch alongside the iPhone 6 on Sept. 9. There has not been any indication as to when either device will hit the market, though Re/Code noted that the iWatch may get an Oct. release date.

According to Reuters, Apple is expected to unveil both a 4.7- and 5.5-inch iPhone, the largest handsets ever for the company. With the iPhone accounting for half their sales, the release is highly important for Apple.

Expected later this year are updates to the iPad Air and iPad Mini and other reports have even indicated that Apple is looking to release a 12.9-inch iPad in early 2015. Sources have told Reuters that there is good reason to doubt the expanded use of sapphire crystal, as their supplier may not have produced enough in time.
