Landon Donovan will get to cap off his career playing for the United States Men's National Soccer Team (USMNT) one last time.

The team announced Donovan's addition to the roster Tuesday and that he will play in an international friendly match against Ecuador on Oct. 10 in East Hartford, Conn. One of the greatest American soccer players ever, Donovan announced his retirement earlier this month and said he would finish the season before calling it quits.

Donovan's last international match will take place at Rentschler Field with a 7 p.m. kickoff and a live broadcast on ESPN, WatchESPN, UniMas and ESPN Deportes Radio.

"Playing for the U.S. National Team has been a huge part of my career and I'm ecstatic to have the opportunity to play for my country one last time," Donovan said in the team's announcement. "I'm so grateful to all the fans that have supported me and this game will give me the chance to say thank you to all of them. I look forward to a great evening and I'm thankful to U.S. Soccer for making this happen."

One of Donovan's many highlights in his 15-year international career was his tiebreaking strike against Algeria in the 2010 World Cup to send the Americans to the Round of 16. He is also the USMNT's all-time leader in goals and assists.

"For 15 years, Landon has thrilled us with his amazing abilities on the field and impressed us with his gracious approach off the field," U.S. Soccer President Sunil Gulati said in the announcement. "We are looking forward to celebrating his legacy during our next home National Team match and allowing fans the opportunity to thank him for all the memories he's provided over the years."

It is unclear who will play alongside Donovan in his last international match, and though long-time friend and teammate Tim Howard is taking a break from Team USA, he is a safe bet to show up.
