Pat Haden, athletic director at the University of Southern California (USC), was hospitalized twice over the weekend for an undisclosed reason, though he is admittedly "OK."

According to the Los Angeles Times, Haden was not feeling well and had to be admitted to the hospital twice in as many days. When contacted for an official statement on the matter, a USC athletic department official declined.

The USC Trojans' announced on their official Twitter account that Haden expected to leave the hospital before the weekend was out. Haden did not address his hospitalizations on his Twitter account, so he seems like he has already put it behind him.

USC AD Pat Haden reports that he is feeling fine and thanks everyone for their well wishes. He expects to check out of the hospital today.

Haden is part of the inaugural 13-member College Football Playoff (CFP) selection committee. The group is tasked with picking the four teams that will play for the National Championship in a tournament of one-game playoffs.

Though Haden is apparently ready to go back to work, another member told ESPN there is not a protocol in place to replace someone unable to serve.

"It could be done with 12 members," Bill Hancock, the CFP's executive director, said. "When we created the committee, we said it would be somewhere between 12 and 18 members. We don't really have a policy and decided not to do anything. We're just confident everybody would be able to get here."

Hancock also said Haden emailed the group to let them know he was doing fine.

USC opens its football season Saturday, Aug. 30 at home against Fresno State, a team they beat 45-30 last season in the Las Vegas Bowl. The game will be televised at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX.

Earlier this month, Haden contributed to a chain of Trojan-related ALS Ice Bucket Challenges when he nominated head football coach Steve Sarkisian. The current coach then nominated a famous former coach, Pete Carroll, whose Seattle Seahawks are the reigning Super Bowl Champions.
