Popular singer Beyonce Knowles says she will give scholarships to female students in four US universities to mark the first anniversary of her album "Lemonade". The "Run The World (Girls)" hitmaker has launched the charitable work that would give educational grants to those who are "unafraid" to make a difference and are do more than what is expected.

According to BBC, a statement posted on the singer's website said that the scholarships will cover the 2017 to 2018 school year. It also emphasized four simple qualifications such as boldness, creativity, consciousness, and confidence. Additionally, the grants are exclusive to women pursuing studies in creative arts, music, literature, or African-American studies.

To further explain, Beyonce said that it does not matter if the recipient is an incoming, current, or graduate student. The schools that were chosen, per the same source, are Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College. For the record, the recipients of the program will be called Formation Scholars, named after one of her tracks in 2016.

Now, The Record clarified that Beyonce is not the only celebrity to offer scholarships to students. It said that Rihanna has done the same program for Caribbean students who were studying in the United States. The latter said in earlier statements that she has always dreamed of becoming rich enough to "save children" all over the world. Rihanna narrated that when she was around six years old, she was already watching commercials that let people donate 25 cents to save someone's future.

Going back, born on September 4, 1981, Beyonce was raised in Houston, Texas where she first performed in various singing and dancing contests. She has won 22 Grammy Awards and she is the most nominated woman in Grammy's history. Lastly, she is also the most awarded artist in MTV Video Music Awards with 24 wins.
