The Golden State Warriors have successfully raised $500,000 from various foundations for the Hoops for Kids program to support and encourage the education and success of the underserved youths in San Francisco, California.

The Hoops for Kids program is a unique fund raising campaign spearheaded by the Golden State Warriors where each 3-pointer yield $500 for all organizations supported by the program. The current number of 3-point shots made by the NBA team was enough to reach the $500,000 during this season, which was a major milestone in the program. The Hoops for Kids program focuses on underserved youths who are unable to access privileges enjoyed by families who are well-off in life.

Alongside the Warriors in this campaign are other companies that pledged support on this unique, welfare program. Companies like Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Koret foundation and the Taube Philanthropies have all supported the Hoops for Kids program, which is also the reason why the program continues on. Through the concerted effort of these organizations, the program managed to donate $1.75 million during this regular season.

At the moment, the Warriors have supported youths in the Bay area through outreach programs in cooperation with the Municipality, giving kids the chance to realize the dreams through education and various sports training. According to statistical data provided by the said program, 10 out of 100 ninth grade students in Public schools will graduate college. The high high number of youths who will lack the necessary educational skills to face life when they become adults is a major factor in the country's economy. Addressing this promptly is important as the US is slowly lagging down on STEM graduates to countries like Japan.
