Huawei, Lenovo, ASUS Tango-Based Smartphones are the Future of Augmented Reality

The path which Virtual Reality (VR) walked through today leads to a more exciting and advanced platform called Augmented Reality (AR). Lenovo Phab 2 Pro and ASUS Zenfone AR are the two handsets that supported Google Tango technology. Huawei is reportedly coming up with a Tango-based smartphone soon.

Huawei Tango-Based Smartphone

The Chinese manufacturing firm Huawei is expected to come up with their own smartphone that will support Augmented Reality platform through Google's Tango technology. However, as of today, Huawei has not revealed any details regarding the smartphone.

To recall, Huawei has two smartphones that support Google's VR platform: Huawei Mate 9 Pro and Porsche Design Mate 9. The two smartphones work with Huawei's headset which is compatible with Google's VR motion controller and is more convenient to use than Samsung's Gear VR, Tech Radar reported.

Lenovo Phab Pro 2

Lenovo Phab Pro 2 is hailed as the first device to run Google's Tango AR software. The 6.4-inch device though looks more of a tablet than a smartphone sports a 2K IPS display with high-pixel density with deep and vibrant colors, The National reported.

The device is equipped with rear fingerprint reader, 16MP camera with fish eye lens and infrared depth sensor to execute AR apps such as measuring furniture using camera, putting virtual dinosaurs in the living room and other weird stuffs that an owner wishes to do with Lenovo Phab Pro 2.

ASUS ZenFone AR

Attendees from the concluded Mobile World Congress 2017 have reportedly showed interest to ASUS ZenFone AR due to the combination of specs and advanced feature that the smartphone possessed. According to Android Authority, unlike Lenovo Phab Pro 2, ZenFone AR is the first high-end smartphone that supports Google Tango and Daydream and also the first smartphone to feature an 8GB of RAM.

Furthermore, ASUS ZenFone AR sports a depth-sensing 23MP camera with motion tracking sensors to support Tango applications (30 Tango apps are currently available in Google Play Store). Aside from that, the device also sports a massive display of 5.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with Quad HD resolution and powered by Snapdragon 821 processor.
