A viral Facebook post suggests that a new product release is about to happen. Could it be the HTC 11?

HTC Taiwan unveiled a digital poster bearing the message "spring is coming." The company already revealed the U Ultra and the U Play earlier this year. Thus, one more handset must debut. Hopefully, it is the HTC 11 this time around.

HTC 11: Signs it will come

According to BGR, while the announcement is quite vague, the timing is pretty much perfect. For one thing, its predecessor actually launched within the same month. The HTC 10 was revealed early in April last year.

If HTC plans to follow the same launch pattern, then March 20 is a sensible date. Although the U Play and the U Ultra are decent smartphones, they were not the expected devices to follow the greatness of the HTC 10. While mobile fans are focused on the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the iPhone 8, any news about the HTC 11 would really be sensational.

Thus, if the Taiwanese firm wants to enough attention for its next flagship phone, it must not wat until the Galaxy S8 is here. For the record, Chialin Chang, HTC boss, previously hinted that their company will not launch the HTC 11 until Qualcomm's next premium chipset hits the market. Well, it already did through the Sony Xperia XZ Premium revealed at the MWC 2017.

HTC 11: Signs it will not come

Napier Lopez listed the reasons why he doubts the arrival of the HTC 11 on The Next Web. Per Lopez, first is that the poster lacks important details like time for an event or a live stream that consumers may follow. Also, March 20 is only five days away. Last year, HTC rolled out teasers about three weeks in advance.

Secondly, the poster was only published on the Taiwan page, a strange choice for a firm that needs momentum to sell the HTC 11 globally. With that, some believe that the announcement was really meant for another product. If that is the case, the top candidates are the Vive 2.0 VR headset and the Vive fitness tracker.

HTC, in fact, confirmed that the Vive VR is in the works during an event in Singapore last month. Another reason to sell the headset is that it is one of the company's bestsellers in 2016 with over 100,000 models sold. With smaller chance, though, the Vive fitness tracker appeared on a Federal Communications Commission listing in January.
