By

The PS4 update 4.50 is now live! It features two distinct options such as customizing wallpapers and enabling external hard drives.

A Boost Mode then increases the console's performance in non-optimized older games. The PS4 update also installed a voice chat for Remote Play perfect for users streaming PS4 games to their smartphones and computers. To top it all, Sony's ShareFactory app upgraded to its 2.50 version, enabling people to import their own videos and images via USB stick.

PS4 Update: How to personalize wallpapers

According to Push Square, players can now personalize their wallpapers through the PS4 update 4.50. Google Image Search is the best platform to find HD wallpapers. However, users need to note that the picture should be sized according to their TV's resolution. After looking for an image, click "Tools" then "Size" and "Exactly".

People may choose 1080p (1920x1080) or 4K (3840x2160) image resolutions for the PS4 update. The next step is to save the picture and put it to "Cubeupload." Players have to hit the square button to enter full-screen mode and grab a shot using the DualShock 4 share button.

To add the screenshot, go to Settings > Themes > Select Theme > Custom > Select Image and then click the "Other" option. Lastly, hit the "Apply" button to save all changes made. Well, another thing users can do via the PS4 update is to pick a matching theme color in the same menu.

Enabling hard drives - PS4 update

According to Life Hacker, the PS4 update requires the latest USB 3.0 cable. It should have between 250GB and 8TB storage capacity. Once connected, go to "Settings", "Devices", and then "USB Storage". Next is to select "Format as Extended Storage", "Next", "Format", "Yes", and "Okay". The right key to press when confirming an action is the "X" button.

Meanwhile, to transport files from the internal memory to an external drive in the latest PS4 update, choose Settings > Storage > System Storage. From there, tap on "Applications", "Options", and then "Move to Extended Storage". Press "X" next to each game title you want to transfer then click "Move".
