With iPad refreshes launched in three different sizes, Apple could kill off the iPad Air, AppleInsider has learned. It is safe to assume that iPad Mini may also be discontinued since it's been three years since the fourth gen was updated.

Furthermore, the detail in tablet sizing is a strong indication that Apple is trying to penetrate different target markets for each iPad. For instance, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2 will be the model for budget concern buyers that could encourage consumers to shift from the Mini tablet. As for the 10.5-inch tablet - it will most likely replace iPad Air.

Specifically, the 10.5-inch iPad is expected to attract more potential consumers since this will be Apple's first thin-bezelled tablet.

iPad Pro 2 launch reportedly delayed

The second gen iPad Pro is expected to debut in March but it's been reported that Apple will delay the shipment until May. It was Apple Insider who learned from anonymous sources that the March event will only be an introduction to the three new tablets whilst the products availability for global consumers will happen in May.
