‘Justice League’ Cast 2017: Lawrence Fishburne's Absence Explained; Steppenwolf’s Master Plan Revealed In New Plot Leak [VIDEO]

"Justice League" will debut in theaters this year. Expectations are high for the superhero flick, and many are hoping that the DC Expanded Universe's upcoming offering will come close to the success of its rival, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Lawrence Fishburne has been asked to reprise his Perry White role in "Justice League," but the actor turned down the offer due to scheduling conflicts, Los Angeles Times reported. He also doesn't see why the newspaperman needs to be in the movie, given that the main reason why people will flock to cinemas is to see Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) fight evil together.

The upcoming movie will pit the superheroes against Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) and his nephew, Darkseid. Steppenwolf was first seen in a deleted scene from "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" with the film's villain, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). "BvS" also showed Darkseid's cronies and omega symbol during Batman's apocalypse dream.

A recent plot leak from a Singapore-based movie magazine, however, seemingly revealed Steppenwolf's master plan. F*** Magazine shared a synopsis of the movie online and they claimed that Steppenwolf is looking for the three powerful artifacts a.k.a. the Mother Boxes on Earth. This wasn't entirely surprising, though, given that Steppenwolf's cut scene in "BvS" showed him holding three cubes (presumably symbolizing the artifacts) in question.

For those unacquainted, the Mother Boxes are sentient and portable supercomputers that contain immeasurable powers and abilities. The items are scattered across Earth: one is with the Amazonians, one is possessed by the Atlanteans and one is being kept by humans.

Cyborg seems to be the third Mother Box because he was literally made using the Mother Box possessed by mankind, according to Collider. This suggests that he has a vital role in the film.

Director Zack Snyder said that the Justice League's dynamic is complex due to their different backgrounds and point of views, ComngSoon.net reported from Total Film magazine. "Justice League" bows in theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.

The movie also stars Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), J.K. Simmons (Commissioner Gordon), Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko) and Connie Nielsen (Queen Hippolyta).
