University Of Connecticut Versus Tulsa, UConn Huskies Win!

By

University of Connecticut's Napheesa Collier says that one of the good thing about the Huskies is that if they are missing from the outside, they can go to their inside game a little more. And that is exactly what happened during the last half of the NCAA college basketball game on Sunday, Feb. 5 at Storrs, Connecticut.

UConn scores their 97th straight win over Tulsa with 96-50. Looking at Collier, the 6 foot 1 athlete scores 24 points and pulls nine rebounds leading the team to their 97th consecutive win.

Another star in the Huskies is Saniya Chong, with her 17 points score, seven assists plus seven rebounds. Katie Lou Samuelson, Kia Nurse and Gabby Williams also chipped in double digit points during the game, as reported by The Charlotte Observer.

Proud of these athletes' achievements, UConn coach Geno Auriemma says that they have found a winning edge. Going into the game, Auiremma sees that they need to go to the player who is making the most shots and they did that. By halftime, Collier scores some more points and rebounds. Samuelson added more points in the third quarter. Every single time, the Huskies pull out more points.

Tulsa's coach expressed that their star freshman Shug Dickson had it hard with Collier and Kia on her and could not get past Chong. Dickson acknowledges that they did a great job. The UConn is facing a huge amount of pressure with their next game.

Next up, the UConn Huskies are going to Cincinnati on Tuesday to face off with the Bearcats and former UConn assistant coach Jamelle Elliott. Then returns home on Saturday to face SMU. Tulsa's Golden Hurricane is facing UCF next Saturday. The Huskies could bid for their 100th consecutive win on Feb. 13 against South Carolina, as reported by the Hartford Courant.
